The thrust on
academic excellence in the classroom has been accompanied by an
effort to build up the Vidyalayas as co-educational residential
institutions. The House System of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, functions
as an effective instrument for the development of the personality
of the students. It furthers team spirit, by involving students
in a variety of co curricular and extra curricular activities. The
inter house competitions, organisational responsibilities, games,
sports & art in education activities help students to groom
themselves into competent & self-confident individuals. The
value of dignity of labour & concern for environment is sought
to be incorporated by self help activities that are part & parcel
of the daily schedule of all Vidyalayas. Teachers who stay in residence
provide teaching help after class hours through remedial teaching
sessions held in the afternoons. Teachers as House Masters or House
Mistress maintain a close association with students and provide
the necessary support to children.
Co-curricular
Activities ensures the harmonious growth of personality in children.
It is source of strength for streamlining the talents of the child.
It also helps to improve analytical thrust for knowledge competitive
spirit, communication abilities, value orientation, leadership teamwork
and various other facets of life. To inculcate all the said qualities,
quiz, recitation, extempore speech, elocution, debate, mono act,
fancy dress, competitions are conducted in our Vidyalaya. Navodaya
family under one roof promotes national integration policy, celebrates
regional, religious and national festivals much to the unique principle
and feeling of oneness.
To provoke social
and scientific thoughts in student’s exhibition was conducted at
Vidyalaya level and at cluster level out of which social science
exhibit got selected towards regional level.
Our Top scorers
in science Kum. Jarisha, Mas. Dinil Joseph and Mas. Jithin had attended
Science Congress held at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
under the Department and Center for Counseling and Support. The
Programme was very useful and informative for Science students.
Green School
Training Programme for science teachers and SUPW teachers of Hyderabad
region was organized in our Vidyalaya from 20th to 24th Oct. 2005.
Teachers from 18 different Navodaya Vidyalaya participated in this
Training Programme and it was coordinated by the resource person
Mrs. Razia Beevi T. A., P.G.T Biology of this school.
A training package
on Adolescent Reproductive and sexual health (ARSH) organized by
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti at J.N.V. Palakkad from 26th
to 30th October was attended by Mrs. Razia Beevi, P.G.T
Biology, and Mr. Karunakaran P.G.T. Hindi and Mrs. Isabella, staff
nurse. It provides training for the teachers to enable them to develop
life skills in education and counseling to adolescents through co
curricular school based activities.
A special Inter
House Quiz Competition was conducted in our Vidyalaya to give awareness
in children about AIDS and its issues. ARSH Programme was started
in our school in connection with AIDS week.
